Two successful, retired brothers, Anthony Wilson, and Herbert Wilson III, wanted to provide scholarship opportunities for disadvantaged and underrepresented students. Both brothers benefited from formal education to lift them out of poverty in Detroit, Michigan where they grew up.
They were encouraged by their parents and maternal grandmother to seek higher education.
Strong work ethics, a desire to excel, and giving back to the community were instilled at an early age.
The two brothers took different career paths: one sought medicine and the other corporate management. They wanted other youth to have the same opportunities to excel.
To fulfill their dream, a series of events took place:
The multi-generational legacy foundation will provide scholarships for students for years to come. “It’s a game changer.”
“The foundation is important to me because of my father who stressed the importance of an education and learning a trade.”
Brittany F. Wilson, Esq.
